Convenient location right next to King Street and many attractions. The bathroom was small and dated. The staff was helpful, and the on-site Starbucks is a nice perk.

Location is perfect, right near everything. Rooms need some updating, especially the tiny bathrooms. Valet service was convenient but sometimes slow. Enjoyed the on-site Starbucks and the beautiful historic lobby.

Great breakfast options and very comfy beds. Staff was super friendly and helped us with everything we needed.
Prices were high, but worth it for the service and quality.

Great location and friendly staff; air conditioning didn't work well, noisy at night.

The Francis Marion Hotel boasts a rich history and offers elegant communal spaces. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. the bathrooms could benefit from updates, and service inconsistencies were disappointing. the charm of the location is its strongest asset.

The downtown location was perfect! Starbucks and Walgreens right at our fingertips made life so easy. Plus, our room had a beautiful water view that took my breath away!

The room was quite small, especially the bathroom, which felt cramped and dated. Despite this, the bed was comfortable, though it was a double instead of the requested queen. The AC unit struggled to maintain a consistent temperature, making it tough to sleep well. The noise from the elevator was noticeable, distracting throughout the night. There was adequate storage for clothes, but the pillows definitely needed replacing. A lingering odor in the room was unpleasant, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. The lobby and staff were welcoming, offering a nice contrast to the room’s shortcomings.

I had an amazing time walking around and soaking in the beautiful streets, as the hotel was just a few steps away from fantastic shops, delicious bars and restaurants, and incredible historic sites like the Aiken-Rhett House and the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, all within a short walk of about 1 kilometer, plus the staff was friendly and accommodating and the room was spacious and comfortable; however, I would have preferred better options for larger beds.

The room felt cramped and outdated, with tiny beds that left my husband and me sleeping apart. The bathroom was so small, I could barely turn around, making the whole experience feel uncomfortable and not worth the price we paid.

The lobby is stunning, and the staff are genuinely warm and accommodating, making you feel welcome right away. Loved the food at the restaurant—delicious at all meals. The location was ideal for exploring, especially with my mother in a wheelchair; we could easily get around. Our room was quirky but spacious, though the bathroom was cramped and dated. Valet service was a mixed bag; something dripped on our rental, raising concerns. Lastly, waiting too long for the elevators was frustrating, but the overall charm and hospitality made it memorable.

We had a fantastic family experience at the historical venue, decked out in 20s style with a Southern Garden Party twist. The kids absolutely loved their special backpacks filled with fun activities - a brilliant touch!
For dads, it would be great to have more family-friendly dining options.

Beautiful, immaculate hotel with a fabulous location. The staff were friendly, genuinely helpful, and attentive. Our room exceeded expectations, featuring a super comfortable bed and an unexpected bonus of two bathrooms and two closets. The view was stunning, with a Starbucks conveniently downstairs. the toilet had a strange flush, and the communication regarding holiday brunch availability felt misleading. The spa experience fell short; a late start and early finish ruined what should have been a rejuvenating session. Parking was hassle-free, but an issue with the valet left us concerned about damage to our rental. Despite this, I would return.

The rooms feel kinda dated and could use some love.

The location was spot on for exploring the city during Christmas, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room had a charming vibe and the beds were cozy, providing a nice touch.
The room had two cramped bathrooms with limited storage space, making it uncomfortable to use. one elevator was out of service for a day, causing some inconvenience.

We partied at a sick Mardi Gras event and rocked The Roarin 20s theme night. Even got sweet backpacks with dope activities. Can't wait to do it all again!
We'd love more late-night party options for young peeps like us.

The hotel's historical charm and elegant lobby immediately caught my eye upon arrival. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the get-go. The views from our room were stunning, and the comfortable beds and plush pillows ensured a good night's sleep. there were some areas that left much to be desired. The bathroom was small, almost claustrophobic, with outdated facilities that could definitely use a refresh. The ventilation in the bathroom was poor, leading to mold issues that were quite off-putting. It was disappointing to find out that amenities like the spa and swimming pool were closed, as this was not communicated clearly before our stay. On the upside, the Swamp Fox restaurant downstairs served delicious food, and the bartender, Shawn, added a fun touch to our dining experience. The location of the hotel was ideal, with plenty of dining options and historic sites within walking distance. The valet parking was convenient, although a bit pricey, and the parking situation could be more straightforward to avoid unexpected charges. In terms of room amenities, the ironing board provided was dated and difficult to use due to the old cover. The AC unit was a bit finicky, struggling to circulate air effectively and leading to temperature inconsistencies throughout the night. It was frustrating to wake up feeling too hot despite setting the thermostat low.

The hotel seemed like a setting straight out of The Great Gatsby, but thankfully without the drama. The staff was as charming as the decor, making me feel like a pampered 1920s movie star all the way.
So thrilling to sleep on those extensive marble stairs in my minuscule room.

The hotel saved us when our flight was canceled due to bad weather, offering exceptional service and a beautiful room with a view of the bay and downtown. The staff's kindness and attention to detail eased our stress, making our stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel.

the Francis Marion was so close to everything and the staff placed surprise chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge for my daughter's birthday! the hallways were old - but the location made up for it. the swamp fox restaurant was outstanding, and the breakfast and the short French lady were excellent.
Totally recommend

I was thrilled to visit Rainbow Row and chose Francis Marion for its convenient location. However, the catering manager's exceptional service surpassed my expectations. The classic Southern cuisine at The Swamp Fox Restaurant & Bar was a delightful culinary experience, showcasing local farm-fresh ingredients and regional specialties.
Single bed in traditional room.
